Resistivity / Hall Effect Package

Abbess Instruments Resistivity / Hall Effect Probes
Instrument package (IPACK-1)
     Voltage/Current Source
     Nanovoltmeter
     Relay Matrix

leadless sample carrier
The Resistivity / Hall Effect probes designed and built to fit any ABBESS cryostat, to allow the customer to measure resistance changes as small as 10-6 ohm. The probe has a theoretical sensitivity of about 10-8 ohm:

The probes can accept samples up to the limits of the cryostat used. The probes typically has a minimum of 4 contacts, but may have up to 256. The Instrument Packages' (IPACK-1) contains a voltage/current source that supplies current from 100 micro amp to 10.1 amp with an accuracy of ±(0.l % + 0.1 mA) at the low end and ±(0.5% + 10 mA) at the high end. The IPACK-l's nanovoltmeter can read from 10nV to 1000V with accuracies of ±(0.006% + 5nV) at the low end and ±(0.005% + 1.5V) at the high end. The IPACK-1 can interface with the optional system controller(computer).

General Technical Specifications
(Specifications may vary depending on final configuration)
Resistivity Measurement Sensitivity 10-7ohms or better; theoretical sensitivity 10-9 ohms
Uses quasi-DC measurement technique to avoid effects of sample inductance and capacitance while canceling thermal emf; complete measurements every 2 seconds over IEEE-488 bus
Range 10-7 to 2 ohms (optional to 1000 ohms)
Precision ±0.1%; accuracy (1 year) ±0.1% for R> 10-4 ohms; ±0.5% for 10-6< R < 10-4 ohms
Current Control Minimum current is 0.1 nA
Maximum current is 10.1 amp
Voltage Measurement Recommended Nanovoltmeter: 10 nV resolution, 5.5-6.5 digit resolution, ranges to 1000 V, IEEE-488 interface
Current/Voltage source Recommended Voltage/Current Source: 100 mA to 10 A or 1 V to 100 V full scale output with 3 digit resolution, 100 watts, IEEE-488 interface
