Humanity’s Next step - on the edge of the nest

From time long forgotten,

our sun, Sole and our Mother Earth have nurtured us.

Now that we stand on the edge of the nest,

we see clearly that our Mother

is a member of a larger family.

With childlike wonder,

       we view through our creations

the worlds of our mother's family.

From the virgin surface of Mars

which has waited for countless millions of years,

            for us.

In Passing

To Glimpse the awesome cloud bands of Jupiter

and to probe the cryogenic mystery of Titan,

Then to arrive

And see the rings, moons, and dragon storms of Saturn,

that are larger than our minds can conceive.

We are filled with Wonder and Fear,

      At a step, once taken,

           changes us

                  Forever.

From the arms of our mothers,

and on the shoulders of our fathers,

           we children must grow up,

                 to take our places

                      among the stars

                           of our Mother

                                  Earth's family.
