Performance Specifications

All performance specifications stated, including but not limited to, pump-down rates and vacuum levels make the following assumptions:

  • The Vacuum Chamber is empty.
  • The Vacuum Chamber and other system components are clean and dry.
  • The System is being operated at Sea Level
  • The ambient temperature is 18°C +/- 2°C
  • All system components, including those not supplied by Abbess, are appropriate for the system and are functioning properly.
  • The specifications are not impacted by the properties of your product.

If you require performance specifications for conditions other than those listed above, it is vital that you make this known to Abbess Instruments in writing.  Generally Abbess Instruments recommends choosing chamber and pumping system qualities capable of achieving a theoretical vacuum at least an order of magnitude better than the desired operational vacuum.

It is to be noted that a specification described as '10-5 Torr' is a range, and means the clean, empty, dry chamber system is capable of reaching some undetermined value between 1.0x10-5 and 9.9x10-5 Torr: The (clean, empty, dry) chamber is deemed compliant whether its As-Built base vacuum is 1.0x10-5 Torr or 9.9x10-5 Torr. It does not mean that the chamber is guaranteed to reach every level within that range.

High Vacuum Storage System

Achieve dry, and controlled conditions for your items and batches with our process-versatile, multi-access, multi-functional, with a optional automated chamber controller and data logger. Abbess Instruments reduces your production failures and processing time by eliminating moisture issues, air bubbles, and air cavities … and by automation (through controlling your process variables). We can take your product, in-situ, all the way from cleansing through to its degassed, and even cured, state:

With the addition of our liquid feedthroughs and thermal plates, this large-capacity, top-loading, semi-automated vacuum system allows for degas, dose, and thermal-cure processing. Viewports and in-chamber lighting give you visibility of the process, while a hatch provides process access. A Vacuum Cycle Controller (VCC) is used to automate vacuum/hold/vent control functions and vacuum monitoring, via panel-mounted buttons and indicators. Abbess will work with you to customize the automation to your process, just as we will work with you to ensure the system configuration meets your production needs. Emergency or non-automated vacuum venting can be always readily achieved with the manual vent valves.

Achieve in-vacuum manipulation of your process/part by manually operating the turntable.

Cart-mounting provides full system mobility and thus flexibility of positioning on your production floor.

Upgrade options include:

  • A Vacuum Cycle Controller (VCC) that can be used to automate some or all of the control functions via panel-mounted buttons and indicators
  • A VCC controlled by a PC with a user-specified Graphical User Interface (GUI) operated through a touch-screen (as illustrated here).

Achieve thorough drying, and fast in-situ processing of both your large items and large batches with our process-versatile, multi-access, multi-functional, large capacity, automated chamber.

Abbess Instrument vacuum systems are delivered with industry-leading lead times.
